Overview

Responsible for payroll-processing for approximately 1,500+ employees.  Requires an understanding of company payroll policies and procedures while demonstrating a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for salaried, full time and part time employees in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Prepares a wide variety of payroll documents and computer input including, but not limited to: timekeeping, direct deposit, wage garnishment administration and payroll adjustments.
  • Calculate and process off-cycle manual checks (terminations, adjustments, etc...)
  • Review payroll data to ensure accuracy prior to check printing.
  • Receive and respond to telephone and in-person inquiries related to a variety of payroll issues.
  • Communicate payroll policies and procedures to company employees of all levels.
  • Work closely with Human Resources department to ensure personnel data is received timely and accurately.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years recent hands-on payroll experience required.
  • Customer service oriented: communicates courteously and effectively when explaining payroll functions and policies via phone, email and in-person.
  • Familiarity with third-party payroll processing. ADP strongly preferred.
  • Experience in high volume environments. Must possess excellent time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills required. Establishes and maintains professional working relationships.
  • Detailed oriented with familiarity of documentation processes, company policies and functions of a multi-state payroll environment.
  • Knowledgeable of basic accounting practices
  • Team player: works with autonomy and minimal supervision. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material.
