Overview

Primary Role:   This position has the following role:  Achieving the Development store opening plan by partnering with franchisees to build new Jamba Juice stores throughout the central and eastern portion of the United States.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Maintain primary relationship with Franchisees that are developing in designated territory from market planning to store opening.
  • Primary responsibility for approvals, schedules and store openings.
  • Market Planning & Execution – Understand opportunity areas for new development and help Franchisees execute against the plan. Act as DMA owner for several markets and lead the Franchisees toward the development goals established in the signed development agreements and trade area reservation letters.  
    • Run various sites through site model, as needed
    • Tour with Franchisees in market
    • Coach Franchisees on negotiation of real estate deals
    • Generate site approvals
    • New Store Opening calls – schedules and resolution of issues
    • Problem solve in markets
    • Maintain relationships with brokers regarding opportunities in area
  • Pipeline Management - Develop and maintain the pipeline of new stores.  Forecast timeline of openings and assess risk.  
    • Maintain communication with Franchisees with active sites
    • Participate in weekly development calls
    • Provide construction support to Franchisees up to store opening
  • Real Estate Committee (REC) Proposals – Present business justification, including the REC presentation for new store proposals for formal Real Estate approval.
  • Conflict Resolution – Engage with team to find solutions to development barriers such as impact, growth approval, build-out costs, etc.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years experience working with Franchisees on developing and opening new stores
  • Problem solver – seeks win/win solutions, demonstrates tenacity and is not easily discouraged
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to establish relationships with franchisees, real estate developers, brokers
  • Address problems proactively and demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with people at all levels by telephone, in writing or in person
  • Ability to think and act quickly and effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm, professional attitude, even in crisis situations
  • Ability to review and understand financial statements and other legal documents
  • Ability to travel
  • Process orientation. Exceptional time management skills
  • PC proficient (Excel, Word , Power Point)
